Wesley Jackson

Musician, Composer, and Capoeirista

Welsey Jackson was born and raised in Charlotte. As a natural athlete, he was always interested in the cultivation of the body. He found Capoeira  through a friend in college when they introduced him to a mestre he went on to study with for two years. He’s continued to train Capoeira off-and-on for the last nine years. What draws Wesley to Capoeira is the focus it places on the mind and body, and how there are infinite applications for the artform. He practices Capoeira to find freedom through developing his ability to move comfortably past the constraints the world imposes. This is the essence of how he practices inside and outside of the roda.
