The NC Brazilian Arts Project team consists of many talented artists from various backgrounds and specialties. Our goal is to continue to educate ourselves and our community in the joy that is Brazilian culture.

Felipe Paz

Percussionist, Capoeirista

Felipe Paz, originally from Mexico, began studying and practicing Capoeira in 2009. He currently trains under Mestre Esquilo of the International Capoeira school and Contra-Mestre Zumbi, in Charlotte.

Felipe has traveled to Brazil many times since 2014 to learn more about Brazilian culture and capoeira.

Felipe began learning and studying various percussion instruments through Capoeira and his time with NCBAP. Currently, he is studying under Master percussionist, Luciano Xavier of Bahia, Brazil.

Felipe has been a member of the NC Brazilian Arts Project since its inception. He hopes to continue to fulfill his dream of sharing his joy and passion for the Brazilian arts.  He is also a big fan of kittens and puppies.

Marcos De Paula

Percussionist, Drummer

Born in Campinas-SP Brasil, Marcos is a local percussionist since his teenage years. After having leaned basic drum set techniques in Mexico City in 1988, Marcos moved to Grants Pass OR where he played in his high school marching band and percussion ensemble. In 2001 Marcos was a member of the first local Rock en Español band in Charlotte NC playing original and covers of other South American Latin Rock acts.

Currently Marcos is a founding member of the local band MoFunGo and a member of NC Brasilian Arts Project as a percussionist

Ezequiel Aloise

Percussionist

Ezequiel Aloise is a multi-talented musician with a very versatile and professional background in music performance and production.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Ezequiel developed a musicianship at a very early age playing drums, percussion, and piano. Ezequiel has achieved a Bachelor’s degree in music production at the age of 21 and ever since has participated in many professional recordings as musician and producer.

In his performing career, Ezequiel has played with many bands ranging from styles of reggae, ska, funk, and rock to cumbia, bachata, jazz and r&b. Ezequiel is currently the drummer of Charlotte-based Latin reggae band, “Jahlistic” and works as an independent producer under the name “Ez Muzic”, as well as being part of the NC Brazilian Arts Project. Ezequiel Aloise is best known for his excellence and professionalism in what he does and his passion and dedication to music.
